History

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Beauty Slammers: Ladies of Wrestling is a creation of Headline Entertainment; a company that now operates MainStream Wrestling Entertainment (MSW), the only legitimate, major professional wrestling circuit in Nova Scotia, “Canada’s Ocean Playground.” We offer quality, family-oriented, character-based professional wrestling entertainment exhibitions for audiences of all ages, using the widest and most diverse talent roster of established experienced professional stars found throughout Canada and the United States, and Overseas.

Now into our 14th year, MSW is the longest-operational brand in Canada, hosting the single largest Annual Touring schedules in North America (in 2009, MSW executed a record-setting 34 live events in 36 days in 4 Provinces, second in size only to WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment).

MSW consistently draws Tour crowds rivaling all Canadian circuits (including USA’s Ring of Honor Spring ’12 card in Toronto). In 2010, MSW established the record for the largest indoor crowd for a non-WWE card in the Maritimes since 1979, drawing 2,037 fans in Halifax, Nova Scotia featuring the top talent from 7 countries, highlighted by legendary superstar, WWE Hall of Famer, Bret “Hit Man” Hart. As part of this historic event, former Halifax Mayor, Peter Kelly, officially deemed October 16, 2010 as ‘Bret “Hit Man” Hart Day’ in HRM. Shortly after the event, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Peter MacKay, commended MSW in a public statement.

In 2006, MSW featured some of the greatest Women’s Matches in North America when current WWE Superstar, Natalya Neidhart battled former TNA Impact Wrestling Knockout, Sarita (“Sweet” Sarah Stock) for the first time in history.

MainStream Wrestling Entertainment made history again in 2012, becoming the first and only wrestling organization in the country to form a working relationship with the Canadian Armed Forces by hosting live, continuous cards at the Jr. Ranks base in Shearwater, Nova Scotia. This effort led to an engagement at CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick.

In 2003, MSW created a cult-like following throughout Halifax Regional Municipality. For over a year-and-a-half, MainStream performed live each week at numerous club establishments, all due to the inaugural success of the popular Thursday night cards at Dave Doolittle’s Sports Bar & Grill in Dartmouth. The weekly cards created indelible memories for local fans who witnessed them. Some of the greatest professional wrestling bouts in Maritime history took place within the confines of Doolittle’s.

MSW is the only professional wrestling circuit in the Maritimes since the 1970’s to grace the front cover of The Chronicle Herald, Eastern Canada’s most respected print media publication. MainStream Wrestling Entertainment has been featured prominently over the years on CBC News, ATV Live at 5, Eastlink Television, and Global TV. In 2001, MainStream received international acclaim when The North Devon Journal, a renowned publication in England, featured MSW in a front-page story.

Since our inception in 2000, MainStream Wrestling Entertainment has been the innovator of many original signature super cards, such as Winter Warfare; Golden Opportunity; Head-On Collision; High Stakes; Capital Punishment (prior to WWE); Traumatic Experience; Untamed; Vengeance (before WWE’s incarnation); Retribution; Seaside Slam; September Stand-off; Anniversary Assault; November 2 Surrender; The Fight Before Christmas, and many others.

MSW creations continue to marvel audiences of all ages throughout the Maritimes, and cultivate new ground. We offer our students-in-training and other talent the opportunity to achieve their goals by utilizing a broad network of established professionals in Canada and the United States marketplaces. MSW’s latest creation is Beauty Slammers: Ladies of Wrestling, Canada’s first-ever all-female professional wrestling circuit.
